I spent the weekend in Duluth, MN. We were up there for State Honor Band. My son auditioned and made the grade 6-8 state honor band. Super stoked for him. I was excited too as I love Duluth. It is a photographers paradise as well as the gateway to the north. Some may know it probably my favorite place on earth. I love the big water. I love the sound of the water on the rocks. I love the smell of the freshwater.
Considering it was 80+ in Kansas City last weekend with my daughter and now it was below freezing and windy in Duluth, the temperature change was a lot to handle. But, I braved the elements anyway and each night after sundown and each morning before sun up, I went walking with my camera and tripod. I love shooting in this place. I also checked the shipping news and several large ships were going to be entering or leaving the Duluth Harbor. Sweet!
I had a blast shooting long exposures. I used the Fuji X Pro 2 with either the 16mm f1.4 or the 90mm f2. Both lenses are a dream. Pretty much perfect. Thank you Fuji. I am quite pleased with these images. I’m not a long exposure guy so a couple of these are over exposed. I also didn’t do much in terms of editing. All of these were shot RAW, converted in camera to either acros or standard. Noise reduction was set to -3 so you can see a little bit of noise in these jpegs. No big deal really. I like grain!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
