Dirt. Dirt. Dirt. Dirt!

Trying to squeeze one more post in for May. Hard to believe we are moving to June already. By my posting, or lack of, it might appear I have been dead but truthfully, I’ve been busy. While I am always busy with home, family and work, I have also been busy riding. A few weeks back, I realized that I just don’t have the time I need to seek silence and restoration in the country. Not complaining, but it really was sort of a revelation for me. I just don’t have it. What I do have is time to ride the dirt that is 2 miles from me, 2 miles from work or 2o minutes from me on my way to work. As such, I have been sort of on a dirt binge. Loving it. Riding all sorts of rigs and just enjoying the love of riding the dirt ribbon.

I have also not been taking too many pictures. I have fallen into the trap of carrying my good camera so it stays in the pack unless I really see something I love.  I have only been taking the camera out once, or twice at most, per ride. Just enjoying pedaling and nature too much to want to stop. This switch is pretty natural really and I go through it often. I need that time to file all the crap in my head away and clear my way to creativity and vision.  So…Here are 4 of my favorite dirt images from the past few weeks.

The lesson I am trying to teach myself this month is find time to ride when I have it. Use what is right before me and in my back yard. Don’t dwell on what I don’t have. Be thankful for what I do have. So far, so good.

Hope to see you on the trails in the AM! I’ll be hitting Lebanon at sunrise.
