Waiting

After a couple years of wondering on this blog, I have finally found my way and created a new vision for where I want to go here at ImagineGnat. The background here is that I left a job a few years ago that had my personal identity wrapped up in my work and the brand I help create. My work was my photographic inspiration. I needed to find my own way. I have found it. I posted this picture along with these words because I may have waited too long for some of the work that I need to do and mention below, but I am on a mission and I have a plan.

Over the last few weeks, I have cleaned up my social and digital networks. I’ve closed my tumblr blog, cleaned up my Instagram and Flickr account. I have started to clean up several years of poor digital asset management. I am also winding down my facebook usage. I am still part of a few photography groups and use it for work so I am not entirely off of it, but I stay logged out on my phone and I just log in at specific times.

In this process I have found clarity in my direction and found that gosh darn it, I have done some cool things and it appears I have some pretty good images. As such, I am just trying to clean up what I share and present myself in a way that reflects my vision and my work. I’m pleased to share those changes today.

Along with changing up my social and digital platforms, I have changed the format of my blog to put photos first. I want bigger images. I hope you enjoy the new format. I have also upgraded to be add free. No one needs to see that and given how I personally don’t go back to sites with lots of ads, why would I allow them here if I expect anyone to come back here.

I will write about it in a future post, but I have also found clarity in my photo gear and 2016 is going to be a great year for me shooting both Fuji and Leica. The rest of the gear is going or gone already. I have a photographers kit and only want to use cameras that inspire me and put photographers 1st.

So…this shot above is from a Fuji Xpro1 and 35mm lens. Shot in Minneapolis on the way to Brits. It pays to have your camera with you and ready at all times.

Again, thanks for the support this year. It’s been a good year for me and I can’t wait to see where this focus takes me.  Hope you enjoy the ride!
