Last week was glorious here in MN. The weather broke again and this sudden change for the better coincided with a short break from my kids’ evening soccer regimen. This gave me the opportunity for some much needed gravel riding. With a little time and with a little encouragement I hit up a ride out of my favorite place, Northfield, MN.
I wasn’t alone on this trip. In fact I rode with quite a few friends. It’s been too long since I had seen, no less ridden with, these folks. I also made a new friend or two. Nothing better than bikes, friends, gravel and a night time beer or two.
In other news there was a Salsa Powderkeg sighting. Ben Witt and Justin Julian from Salsa Cycles had a prototype, near production, Powderkeg tandem out. Sweet rig. I hope to one day own one of these fine rigs so I can do some longer rides with my kiddos.
Anyway, killer night. Here are a few pics and highlights from the evening. Hope you are all getting out too. It’s so good right now.

We finished the night off at the local tavern with a pitcher of Surly Furious followed by a gyro pizza at Basils. Yep, a great night with great people.
