Leap of faith

It’s Friday and the fact that I made it through this week is nothing short of a miracle. 90% of things are good but I’ve got a few things going on that are just not that fun and take about 99% of my mental energy. They make me ask questions in my head that I don’t like nor want to answer. Yes, it has been one of those weeks. Thankfully the weather has been incredible and today I rode my Vaya Ti for the Friday Morning Breakfast Ride. It’s been a very, very long time since I’ve made the breakfast ride and it felt really good. I’m going to get home late tonight, after work, absolutely cooked but it’s going to be a great day because it’s starting out with a bike ride, breakfast and a ride with friends.

So…Today I am sharing one of my favorite images over the past several months. I took this shot with a single frame. No high speed shooting involved. I did do a test shot to get exposure right (although I did tweak it in Lightroom) but the actual image below is from quick reflexes and a little luck. It’s one of those things, sometimes things go your way. I just love this shot. The larger I view it, the more I like it.

That’s all I have for the day. Have a great day.

  1. What a cool shot, Gnat! I wish I knew enough about photography to be able to tell you, in photog terms, all the things I love about the composition of this image . . .

For one, I love the perfectly suspended silouette against the sky. Reminds me of that ubiquitous Michael Jordan image . . . Air Witt.

I hope you have a restful weekend.

    Nate
