I took a day this week for an Interbike detox? What is an IB detox. It is a day void of smoke, fake sounds, big promises and people. The only part of my day that resembled Vegas was excess. This time though it meant excess joy, satisfaction, time, and saddle time.
When I planned it I had a completely different plan in mind. Initially I was going to drive to Cuyuna and get one good dirt ride in on the red dirt of Cuyuna. While that would be great, I woke up thinking wouldn’t it be nice to have coffee with my wife, see my kids off to school and then go get lost. Yep, that’s the ticket.
My route of choice was based on the lovely Rawland route. This time though I took a road that I had not taken and found myself way out of my way and quite turned around. I also didn’t have cell coverage. By the time I zig zagged back across the countryside and found a place with cellular coverage to call up a map, I found out I was 13 miles from my lunch stop. Oh well….So be it. Off to Nerstrand I went. I guess it was meant to be.
By the end of the day, I was knackered. At the same time I was mentally rejuvinated and my body had purged the Interbike smarm. My favorite roads did it again. Thank you.
I was also in a photo kind of mood. I traveled light though and only brought my point and shoot. I shot at will and while moving. I usually edit down and share only a few of my favorite images. This time though you get quite a few. That’s the kind of day it was. Hope you enjoy.
In the end, this is what it looked like. It isn’t pretty. Casey’s saves the day again.
Until next time favorite roads. Thank you for the perfect day.

Glad to se you had a bluebird day to “detox” on. Great images, as always. Take Care.
Thanks GT. I still long for a day where we get lost out there, somewhere, together. Some day my friend.
Lovely shots…and lovely favorite roads.
Thank you Philip.
