This week on the blog is dedicated to living life. While I am not in the physical condition I want to be in, I am constantly reminded that there is more to life than riding and taking pictures. For me, those are certainly big parts of my life but they paint a very incomplete picture. My life is overflowing with blessings of family, friends, gifts, talents, opportunties and joy. I am human and I often overlook those things, but recently I have been doing a better job recognizing them. I am taking some time to slow down and taking moments to celebrate those important things. These past two weeks have been filled with life, so much so that I want to share them this week.
I start this week off with off with a dedication to my friend Eric at Adventure Monkey. He’s recently gone through heart surgery and in a recent text exchange with him, he reminded me that I should not take things for granted. His last line read “You better be taking care of yourself”. Eric, I am. Things are coming a bit more into balance and my mental health has improved so much. I am also getting some, and dare I say it, consistent riding time. Thank you Eric for the reminder and the inspiration. I can’t wait to share gravel road, pavement or trail with you again.
Just love this post, thanks for sharing!
I have been through kinda same experience. Ten years ago I got sick and could not work anymore… It took me about eight years to accpt facts, but now I can see that life has given me the opportunity to do something different, something that makes me happy, AND being able to share this is really great!
I’m very thankful for the insight not to take life for granted, it makes every day more precious.
Have a wonderful day with your family!
