OK….I am officially sunk. I have been dreaming about both pinhole photography and medium format film. I posted a while back about my recent obsession with pinhole photography thanks to Wanderlust cameras. I think I even pushed a few of my friends over the edge too and they went out and bought one of the $40 lenses. Well, they are at it again, this time with an incredibly cool, light, tough and affordable 4×5 camera called the travelwide. Check it out here and/or watch the video below
Now, I have no affiliation with them or with kickstarter. In fact, I have never done a kickstarter. I just like that the Wanderlust Camera guys aim to bring affordable, interesting, functional and desirable camera products to the market. Despite looking at hundreds of kickstarter videos, the Travelwide is the first kickstarter where I have actually contributed. I am stoked and I sure hope they reach their goals because come December when the camera delivers, I’ll be taking it up to the northern climates to shoot some sweet winter landscapes! But..it got even better today. I received an update from Wanderlust today and if they reach their goal, they will also include a pinhole cap for the camera to convert it to a 4×5 pinhole. Saa….Weeeet!
Speaking of Wanderlust Cameras and pinhole photography, here are a few more shots taken with their pinwide. I am still loving it and right now I think I am going to do a whole season of riding gravel roads and do a photo book at the end of the year. Should be a cool project.
Lastly, it is National Pinhole day coming up on April 28th is National Pinhole Photography day. There are many clubs and groups doing events around the country. National Camera Exchange here in MPLS is hosting one I believe as that is where I saw the flyer. To search out a registered meet up check out www.pinholeday.org. I unfortunately will be coming back from Trans Iowa where I’ll be doing photography so at a minimum, I will be share a few pinhole images from that crazy and wonderful event!
