Fall and autumn colors are really trying to hang on. Last Friday morning I got out early with a plan to ride Lebanon Hills. As I was heading over, I got distracted by a small lake on the side of the road. I’ve not bothered on stopping because it is on a part of the park that is off limits to bike. But this time, I stopped. Looked at it. Leaned my bike up against the gate and hiked down to it. I am glad I did. Check out the warm morning light bringing the colors out on the lake. I would not have seen this without getting off my bike and walking down to the water.
That brief stop set the tone for the rest of the ride. It was morning and I had Lebanon Hills to myself. There was not another car in the lot. I only stopped once to take a picture and that is when I ran across one tree that could not hold it’s leaves any longer.
I love that we get 4 very different and unique seasons here in MN. That said, I am hanging on to every bit of fall we have as I’m not quite ready for the next season yet. C’mon fall. Hang on just a bit longer.
Sunshine on Friday. Rain on Saturday. What will Sunday bring?
I wrote yesterday how I was home with the kids. Perfect day with two bike rides. Early AM ride at Leb followed by a great ride at Murphy with my kiddos! Glad we got out because today looks gloomy. Hope your weekend is off to a great start.
Time for coffee………
Well, on Saturday my twins turned 10! Hard to believe. They are growing up to be wonderful little people. It also marks the end of the fall sports season. We’ve got a few weeks of respite before heading back to swimming and soccer. So…In honor of this big occasion, here are just a few pics from the weekend. The first few are from a cold & wintery kind of day while the second series are from a really beautiful fall like day. Quite the contrast.
Nat played goalie. Glad she liked it because it made us nervous!
Game 3 throw in
As much joy as you can possibly have at a 40 degree and cold soccer tournament
A perfect centering kick.
One final fall cheer for the Ninja Ducks.
So proud of these kids and both of our teams. These teams will stick together for winter training and summer league. With the progress made this fall season, both should be very, very good next year.
What a weekend we’ve had so far. We had our girl’s birthday party (she’s in blue in above picture), an out of town soccer tournament, a birthday party with aunt Jackie and another soccer game today. One final boy birthday party tonight and our weekend is complete.
Hope you have all had a great one too!
No words needed. Get out and ride folks. Have a great weekend.
