Hello folks. I’m excited today to share and write about my first showing of Project Steve. Project Steve began many months ago messing around with my kids and with my camera. I had this idea of trying to tell stories through photographs of miniature toys in specific environments and situations. My shooting for Project Steve has been a bit sporadic at best but I’ve gotten quite a few shots that one day I hope to show all together somewhere.
Recently an opportunity came up to show some of my work in a very cool shop and environment as part of a local gravel race. My old coworker and friend that owns Cyclova XC out in St. Croix Falls is putting on the second annual Mammoth Gravel Classic this coming weekend on April 20th. Frank asked me if I was interesting in showing some art and after some consideration, I decided to share several of my images from Project Steve.
So….This weekend I will be showing several images from Project Steve along with several images from my experiences of riding gravel roads on my bicycle. My Project Steve images are printed 11×14″ in color, matted and framed. I will be putting them for sale at a reasonable price and Frank and I are working out details of how to donate the proceeds to his community. I hope you come out for the event, support a great midwest bike and ski shop and while you are at it, check out some of my images!
A special shout out to Frank for asking me because it’s the spark I needed to bring Project Steve to life.
