My year – January thru March
This week I am going to dig into the archive a bit and look back at the year. I’ll have a few words but these posts will mostly be pictures. I am going to do my best to try to find images I have not shared hear before. You’d think that would be easy with something like 25,000 images from 2012. Here goes.
January 2012 – It appears I was in a creative funk or doldrums as the below picture is the only one I want to share from January. January did kick off my film project and the shot below is from my first roll of Porta 400 through a used, but new to me, Bessa R4A.
February 2012 – It’s fun to look back and see a change occurring. One thing I noticed looking back is that I didn’t ride much in January. We had a crappy winter and I just didn’t get out that much.  I also saw me getting out more in February. For me, if I am not out riding, I am not out shooting. They go hand in hand.
March 2012 – March brought two vacations for me, one a bike vacation with friends and one with family. I could have chosen several more from each trip. One fun note about the March bike trip up north is that I have an article coming out in an upcoming issue of Superior Outdoors Magazine featuring words and images from that trip. I can’t wait to see some of those images in print! The last family images of this March set are very powerful and meaningful to me.
As you can see, my photographic energy and skill are improving from my lame January start. As I said above, that is what getting out into this world does for me. Tomorrow’s a big post as I had a lot going on from April – June!

Amazing as always. Even the lame ones. Though this look back isn’t helping temper my fat bike want.
Thanks Thad! You have some great stuff lately too!
Nice pics! Your ‘Morning Kill’ shot is of a mink that killed a muskrat, not a marmot!
Thanks Josh. Brain fart on the mink. I knew that too! Post corrected! Have a good holiday.
